The Aachen Machine Tool Colloquium is both a network meeting and an information hub. Participants from various disciplines traditionally exchange ideas on the production of tomorrow every three years in Aachen. The 30th AWK took place under the motto “Internet of Production – Turning Data into Sustainability”. In addition to the usual face-to-face event, there was a premiere this year: In addition to the analog event in the Aachen Eurogress, large parts of the event program were transmitted digitally. A total of 800 participants followed the digital program live on the screens and were also able to navigate through the machine halls, including the Ramp-Up Factory, of the two host institutes (WZL and IPT) in the world’s largest virtual institute tour.
